Getting started
Create your account
Sign up in under a minute, no credit card. Your data is private to your account until you choose to share it.
Write, link & digitize
Capture experiments as typed entries, link related work into a graph, or snap a handwritten page and let joey draft it.
Invite your lab
Create a lab, share the join code, and everything you share stays scoped to your team.
Frequently asked
What is joey?
Joey ELM is an electronic lab management platform: a structured notebook (ELN), a graph of your work, shared inventory and equipment, and an AI partner grounded in your own data.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your work is private by default. Sharing is opt-in and scoped to a lab you create or join, never the whole platform.
Does joey AI make up citations?
No. joey AI cites real papers from live scholarly databases (OpenAlex & Semantic Scholar), each with a working DOI. Answers about your work come only from your own data.
Can my whole lab use it?
Yes. A PI creates a lab and shares a join code; members join and see shared entries, inventory, and equipment for that lab. Labs can have multiple PIs.
What does joey cost?
joey is free during our current beta. There's no paid tier yet, and no credit card is required to sign up.
How secure is my data?
Every experiment, protocol, and record is scoped to your account or the lab you belong to, so only you and people you explicitly share with can see it. Traffic to joey is encrypted in transit.
Does joey integrate with other tools?
Not yet. joey is a self-contained workspace today. If there's a specific integration your lab needs, email support@joeyelm.com and let us know.
Prefer to look around first?
The demo is a fully seeded workspace: two labs, shared entries, inventory, and joey AI.
